Jean Abel
Trustee
Who is Jean? Jean has been born and bred in Yorkshire and has lived in the Holme Valley for the past seven years.
Jean is a dedicated and compassionate professional with extensive experience in customer service, complaints management, and claims resolution within both the NHS and the house building sector. With a proven track record of leading teams to deliver high-quality service and to resolve complex issues, she has honed her skills in problem-solving, conflict resolution and customer care.
Having worked as a Complaints and Claims Manager for the NHS and later with a national house builder, Jean developed a deep understanding of organisational processes and the importance of empathetic communication when handling sensitive cases. Her ability to manage high-pressure situations, combined with a solutions-oriented approach, has allowed her to effectively turn challenging situations into positive outcomes for both customers and organisations.
In addition to Jean’s professional experience, she has dedicated time to voluntary work with the homeless and Christians Against Poverty, supporting individuals in need and contributing to the well-being of vulnerable communities.
Now retired, Jean lives in Meltham and enjoys a number of creative pastimes.
